Dr. Mikaela Sundgren was born and raised in El Dorado, KS. She was a graduate of Flint Hills High School and Kansas State University with a degree in Animal Science in 2010. She then attended and graduated from vet school at Kansas State in 2014. She practiced at Western Veterinary Clinic in Cimarron, KS with Dr. Rocky Fairbank for 6 years then moved back to El Dorado and purchased the El Dorado Animal Clinic from Dr. Davy Harkins in March of 2021.

Dr. Mikaela strives to provide quality care for yours pets and enjoys working with both small and large animals. In her spare time, she enjoys riding and showing her horses, spending time with her family and taking care of her cattle and pets.

Fun Fact: The El Dorado Animal Clinic was founded by Dr. Mikaela’s great grandfather Dr. Amos Gish in 1910.

Haleigh has been at the El Dorado Animal Clinic professionally for almost a year now after participating in an internship through school. Her passion for vet med started at a young age, helping her parents with her French Bulldogs. Haleigh has even been inspired to go to college for it! She is currently enrolled at Butler Community College, majoring in pre-vet. In her free time she loves showing goats, specifically Boer goats and dairy goats. In the spring time, if she not at the clinic, she’s in the show ring.

Keara was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in El Dorado. She attended and graduated from Circle High School in Towanda. In her free time, she enjoys riding and training her horses and attending local barrel races. Working with animals, small and large, has been a lifelong passion of hers and she plans to expand her knowledge in vet med and eventually obtain her RVT license. Keara is pictured with one of her geldings, Hidalgo. Can you guess how he got his name? 😉

Kelsie is an El Dorado native, but recently moved out to Eureka where you can find her hanging out with her two dogs, Merle and Stetson, and her cat, Carl. Kelsie’s veterinary medicine career started at the Kansas Humane Society where she discovered her passion for vet med. When she is not at EAC, you can find her helping with spay and neuter clinics. In the summer of 2023, Kelsie had the opportunity to travel to Belize to volunteer at a spay and neuter clinic. On the weekends she either spends time baking and cooking for all of her friends and family or hitting the road (she’s always the designated DJ for good tunes in the car) for an adventure-filled camping trip in the mountains, hiking and exploring.

Kailey’s vet med experience began 7 years ago as a kennel tech and has been a part of a couple clinics since then. She is an El Dorado Native and graduated from EHS. She enjoys all kinds of animals but takes extra pride in my horses and cattle. Kailey is also a licensed Esthetician. She currently owns an equine breeding business and specializes in draft cross horses. When she’s not at the clinic you can find her in the barn or with her family!

Olivia is a well-known face here at the clinic! She is our main greeter and ultimate chair stealer. She has been a rent-free resident here for nearly 17 years! If Olivia is not sleeping, you may find her occasionally getting the zoomies or simply just being in the way of everything. You’re more than happy to give her a pet or two but be careful because she is a grumpy old lady. Despite her crankiness, we love her anyway!
